Pentagon officials have estimated the cost of the first six days of the war at more than $11.3bn, according to US media.
Military officials provided the estimate to lawmakers in a closed-door briefing on Tuesday, The New York Times and NBC News reported, citing unnamed sources.
The estimate does not include some other costs associated with the conflict, such as the buildup of military hardware and personnel ahead of the first attacks, meaning the true figure is expected to be significantly higher, according to the reports.
