Kathmandu: Four bodies have been recovered by ground rescue teams searching for climbers missing after a massive avalanche on Pakistan’s Broad Peak, according to the President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan.
Irfan Arshad Khan, President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, said in an Instagram post that rescue teams operating on the ground had recovered four bodies from the avalanche site.
However, the information has not yet been independently verified, and there has been no official confirmation from Pakistani authorities regarding the identities of the victims.
Earlier, Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Rita Dhital, acknowledged reports that bodies had been found at the scene but said she had not received any official confirmation from the concerned authorities.
The avalanche struck Broad Peak (8,047 meters) in Pakistan’s Karakoram range on Thursday, leaving a 10-member international climbing team missing. The missing climbers include renowned Nepali mountaineer Nirmal Purja “Nims Dai,” along with climbers from Nepal, Pakistan, Oman, China, and the United States.

Nawang Thindu Sherpa (Nepal)
Gyalu Sherpa (Nepal)
Search and rescue operations involving helicopters and ground teams are continuing in the challenging high-altitude terrain. Authorities are expected to release further updates once the identities of the recovered bodies are officially confirmed.
